Pipe bomb threats made at Bradenton high school but no explosives found, police say

No evidence of a bomb was discovered at Manatee High School following social media claims claiming a pipe bomb had been planted at the school, Bradenton Police said in a press release on Tuesday.

The Bradenton Police Department was made aware of the bomb threat Monday evening.

At that time, they conducted a full search of the school’s campus with explosive-detecting K-9s and did not find a bomb.

According to police, there is no danger to students or faculty.

Detectives are still trying to figure out where the social media post that was posted on several platforms originally came from.

“If you see a potential threat, report it to law enforcement immediately, and do not share it on additional social media platforms or accounts. Threats have consequences, even if they’re made as a joke,” the release said.

Bradenton police advise parents and guardians to speak with students about the dangers of sharing these threats on social media.
