It's Pirate Time! The 66th Billy Bowlegs Pirate Festival begins

FORT WALTON BEACH - A hard rain delayed the start of the Friday night Billy Bowlegs Pirate Festival concert, but did not dampen the enthusiasm of the hardy crowd at the Fort Walton Beach Landing.

Captain Billy Bowlegs 66, Gary McMorrow, and Queen Whitney Smith were cheered as they made their debut at the festival in bright black and white costumes.

After greeting Mayor Dick Rynearson and his wife Janey, the pair were promptly "arrested" and taken away for photographs with festival attendees.
