"Pirates: Predators of the Sea" comes to Nobles County Library

Jan. 5—WORTHINGTON — The Nobles County Library is set to host an immersive and educational event titled "Pirates: Predators of the Sea" next Tuesday.

This special program, open to all ages, will be led by Arn Kind, a teacher with 46 years of experience, who will don the role of a pirate to offer a fun and realistic portrayal of the Golden Age of Piracy.

The event aims to dispel common myths and present factual insights into the lives of pirates, spanning from ancient times to the modern-day. Kind's approach involves interactive living history experiences, where audience members will actively participate, role-play, learn the ropes of sea navigation and more.

Kind uses a variety of authentic artifacts and visual aids, all rendered safe for public display and interaction. This includes pirate tools and dulled weapons, as well as replica pirate muskets, pistols, and blunderbusses, ensuring immersion without the need for live ammunition or combustibles.

"Pirates: Predators of the Sea" offers a unique opportunity to explore the historical and cultural aspects of piracy through a living history experience. The public is invited for fun and facts for all ages this Tuesday, Jan. 9 at 6 p.m.
