Pirates RHP Keller exits with bruised wrist

Pittsburgh rookie right-hander Mitch Keller left the Pirates' Tuesday game against the visiting Miami Marlins after being hit in the hand with a line drive.

The Pirates later announced that an initial examination and images showed the injury is probably limited to a contusion and that Keller is day-to-day.

With one out in the second inning at PNC Park, Miami's Garrett Cooper lined a shot up the middle. Keller got both his hands up, and the ball hit his throwing hand before settling into his glove for the out.

Keller crumpled to the mound in pain before leaving the game.

The Pirates led 1-0 at the time.

Keller was making his eighth start of the season. He is 1-3 with an 8.18 ERA.
