This pit stop on Elmira Road is now offering U-Haul rentals, services

Bruce’s Pit Stop at 443 Elmira Road will now offer U-Haul trucks, trailers and towing equipment, following a contract agreement recently signed by owner Bruce Blakeslee.

Moving trucks and other equipment can now be reserved through Bruce’s on the U-Haul website, by calling 607-229-1468, or at the pit stop during its normal business hours, 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday.

In a Thursday statement, Blakeslee said he is proud to team with the industry leader in do-it-yourself moving and self-storage to better meet the demands of Tompkins County.

The Phoenix, Arizona-based U-Haul has partnered with independent dealers to increase access to its rental equipment since 1945, which it says, has generated income for small businesses during difficult times, including the coronavirus pandemic.

The company also offers self-storage, moving supplies and moving services for college students, evidenced by the leagues of its rental trucks found on Cornell University and Ithaca College campuses during move-in weeks.
