"Jump Around" is one of the most recognizable songs in Wisconsin. Whether it's played at Madison's Camp Randall Stadium or a bar in Milwaukee, hands will be up in the air and the ground will shake.

And now, that iconic '90s jam has been remixed by Pitbull, aka Mr. Worldwide, and rapper Lil Jon.

The two recently released "Jumpin," which heavily samples "Jump Around," and might have a couple tips of the cap, err helmet, to Wisconsin football.

"Jump Around," sung by American hip hop group House of Pain and produced by DJ Muggs, is a longtime tradition at Badger football games. It's always played after the third quarter at Camp Randall and has been since 1998 (with the exception of one time due to stadium construction).

It only takes a split second in to "Jumpin" to recognize the tune that made House of Pain a household name.

Following Mr. Worldwide's intro, introducing himself and "Pequeño Juan," and the chorus with Lil Jon in which Pit does indeed say "dale" more than once, the first verse starts with "Pack it up, pack it in" like the original song. Then Pitbull dives into quick-spitting rhymes as he does.

Does the song 'Jumpin' have references to the Wisconsin Badgers?

A couple of lyrics that could perhaps be an homage to the legacy of "Jump Around" in the Badger state:

"Quarterback, sack 'em, billions, stack 'em, 8 ball corner pocket, game over, rack 'em" and "... in '93, it was all a dream ..."

The year 1993 was monumental for the Badger football program. In 1990, head coach Barry Alvarez's first year with the team, Wisconsin went 1-10. And then 5-6 in back-to-back seasons.

But a switch flipped in the 1993 season, when Alvarez's recruits had become a trailblazing group of upperclassmen.

The Badgers were on their way to a 10-1-1 record, but then took a loss against Minnesota and tied Ohio State University. Overtime rules didn't go into effect until 1996.

Ohio State would go on to lose to Michigan, giving the Badgers' Rose Bowl dream new life. UW traveled to Tokyo for a Big Ten finale against Michigan State on Dec. 5, 1993 and won, matching Ohio State for the Big Ten title.

At that time, in the event of a tie for the title, the Rose Bowl berth went to the school that had waited longer for a Rose Bowl appearance. That was Wisconsin, which hadn't been since 1963. OSU had gone in 1985.

Prior to that, Wisconsin had been to — and lost — three Rose Bowls. But they won it for the first time on Jan. 1, 1994.

In the next 12 seasons under Alvarez, the Badgers went to bowl games all but two years, and that included Rose Bowl wins in 1998 and 1999.

The year 1993 was also when "Jump Around" was nominated for a Grammy Award for best rap performance by a duo or group. It had peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States in '92, and would later be ranked No. 24 on VH1's 100 Greatest Songs of the 1990s.

Will "Jumpin" soar to the top like the Badgers and "Jump Around" did? Time will tell. But does it make you want to jump? Yes, yes it does.

Last week, at the Latin American Music Awards in Las Vegas, Pitbull performed a medley that ended with "Jumpin," which Lil Jon joined him on stage for.
