Up next

Milwaukee Brewers

The Brewers entered Wednesday eight games over .500 and six games back of the St. Louis Cardinals in the National League Central. They were two games up in the division on the day of the trade deadline but have gone just 11-15 in 26 games since. The Brewers made a bold move, trading LHP Josh Hader to the San Diego Padres for a package of players. Hader has not pitched well since the deal, but the trade did not appear to go over well in the Brewers’ clubhouse. One recent bright spot for the Brewers has been the resurgence of 1B/DH Keston Hiura, who has a .952 OPS and six homers in 16 games in August. RHP Corbin Burnes (2.84 ERA) and RHP Brandon Woodruff (3.31 ERA) remain their typical dominant selves atop the Brewers’ rotation.
