Apr. 8—First a bear, now a snake.
A passerby in Frick Park spotted a large snake on one of the park trails Thursday, according to Pittsburgh Animal Care and Control.
Public Safety spokesman Maurice Matthews said animal control officers are searching the spot in the park where the snake was last seen, and Zone 4 police are also on the lookout.
The witness said the snake didn't appear to be native to the area, Matthews said, though "it is not yet verified as to what type of snake it is."
Authorities reminded residents to keep their distance from any snake they aren't familiar with and notify police.
