Pittsburgh-area tech companies look to fill open roles following closure of local robotics firms

The recent closures of Strip District-based autonomous vehicle startup Argo AI LLC and South Side-based vertical farming startup Fifth Season Inc. have resulted in the termination of an estimated 800 jobs in the region, many of which are roles likely occupied by highly-skilled workers.

But the desire for talent in the local tech scene remains strong.

According to Joel Reed, executive director of the Pittsburgh Robotics Network — a nonprofit member advocacy group, there are at least 1,000 open job opportunities in the region across PRN’s 110 robotics member organizations.
