Pittsburgh City Controller: Snow Plow Tracker Technology To Blame For Untouched Roads

After residents expressed frustration over untouched side streets during the recent winter storms, the Pittsburgh city controller is blaming the mess on Public Works not heeding a past audit.

- Pittsburgh's comptroller wants the city to make some changes to its snowplow tracker system. An audit found there were issues with the technology installed by contractors with A&H Equipment. It also found routes planned by the GPS system were inefficient or hazardous to drivers. Now, Comptroller Michael Lam's office says the Department of Public Works was asked to work with the contractors to make changes, but he says that never happened. He is now calling on the DPW to implement recommendations in that audit.
