The San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara metropolitan area is where immigrants are thriving the most economically in the United States, according to a new report from the George W. Bush Presidential Center that names one Wisconsin metro in the top 25.

The report, “Immigrants and Opportunities in America’s Cities,” was released Thursday and ranks U.S. metros using data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey. Among the factors used to evaluate how metro areas compared were average household incomes, innovation, staffing in essential occupations like nursing, and measures of cultural appeal like “foodie culture.”

Pittsburgh ranked seventh in the nation, behind St. Louis, Missouri, and ahead of Raleigh-Cary, North Carolina.
