Pixar Place Hotel officially opens at Disneyland Resort

Pixar Place Hotel at the Disneyland Resort officially opened Tuesday after an extensive transformation. The hotel is the first fully Pixar-themed hotel in the United States.

Guests visiting the reimagined hotel may encounter characters like Bing Bong from “Inside Out” or see Joe Gardener from “Soul” playing the piano in the lobby. This is Bing Bong’s first appearance at any Disney property worldwide, theme park officials announced.

The revamped hotel includes three new eateries, a gift shop, a rooftop mini bar, a “Finding Nemo-themed water play area and more.

Character artwork, concept rendering and never-before-seen work from Pixar Animation Studios artists themed to movies like “Inside Out,” “Soul,” and “Finding Nemo” can be seen throughout the hotel. The artwork will showcase the artistic process from early sketches to finished designs.

The hotel’s lobby will be home to the new centerpiece. A character mobile will hang above the Luxo Jr. lamp as it balances atop the red-starred blue and yellow Luxo ball.

The mobile, suspended from the lobby’s skylight atrium, is expected to feature characters from “Finding Nemo,” “Monsters Inc.,” “Wall-E,” “The Incredibles,” “Inside Out,” “Toy Story,” “Soul” and “Coco.”

Hotel rooms also got a Pixar makeover with Luxo Ball pillows, Luxo Jr. Lamp lighting fixtures and Pixar character illustrations made just for the hotel decorating the space.

The Great Maple restaurant, which opened in November, is located on the hotel’s ground floor. The restaurant’s menu consists of upscale comfort food like buttermilk fried chicken and maple bacon doughnuts and the Cajun shrimp and cheddar biscuit Benedict.

The restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The two other new eateries, Small Bytes Pool Bar and Sketch Pad Café are also run by Great Maple.

Pixar Fest returns to Disneyland with new parade and returning fireworks show

A family play court was also added to the pool deck area. The new space will host interactive games and free play inspired by Pixar short films like “La Luna,” “Bao,” “For the Birds” and “Burrow.”

Guests can also enjoy food and drinks while sitting under blue umbrellas from “The Blue Umbrella” or watch the Disneyland fireworks show.

The new Stor-E gift shop, inspired by the “Wall-E” Pixar film, will sell Disneyland merchandise like clothing, toys and souvenirs.

The reimagined hotel sits right across the street from Disney California Adventure Park, so guests can enjoy convenient access to the theme park. Overnight guests can also enjoy early theme park entry.
