Disney and Pixar have announced they are swapping the release dates of The Incredibles 2 and Toy Story 4.

The Incredibles 2 is moving up a year to June 15, 2018, while Toy Story 4 is moving back a year to June 21, 2019.

A studio insider tells Mashable that director Brad Bird is moving so quickly on The Incredibles 2 that the swap made sense. Craig T. Nelson and Holly Hunter will reprise their voice roles as Mr. Incredible and his wife, Elastigirl.

The Incredibles grossed over $633 million worldwide back in 2004, when it posted the second biggest opening of all time for an animated movie. The superhero movie went on to win two Oscars (including Best Animated Feature), while Bird scored a nomination for his original screenplay.

The Incredibles 2 is now slated to open one week after Ocean's 8 and Transformers 6, and one week before Jurassic World 2. Talk about some stiff competition at the box office!

Meanwhile, Toy Story 4 will open one week after an untitled DC movie, and one week before Transformers 7. Tom Hanks and Tim Allen will reprise their voice roles as Woody and Buzz Lightyear.
