New pizza restaurant could be coming soon to Topeka Boulevard

TOPEKA (KSNT) – Topeka Boulevard may be home to another fast-food restaurant thanks to an ordinance signed-off on by city officials.

The City Council approved plans for a new Pizza Hut to appear on Topeka Boulevard in Ordinance No. 20476. Language in the ordinance shows the property where the Pizza Hut could be installed, 901 SW Topeka Boulevard, will undergo a zoning change from “O&I-2” Office and Institutional District to “PUD” Planned Unit Development with “O&I-2” Office and Institutional District Uses along with restaurant with drive-through service.

Is Topeka getting a Braum’s?

An attached report submitted by Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. asks for a Pizza Hut quick-serve restaurant to be created on the existing lot at 901 SW Topeka Boulevard by re-using the existing building currently at the site. The interior of the restaurant will not have any space for customers looking to sit down and eat.

Customers will need to place orders ahead of time then drive up to a pick-up window to get their food and drinks, according to the attached report. Another option would be to drive to the Pizza Hut, park then walk inside to collect orders. Estimated hours of operation for this location are from 10:30 a.m. to midnight on Sundays through Thursdays and from 10:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Pizza Hut is a national chain of fast-food restaurants. It currently has six locations in Topeka with one sitting only a block away from 901 SW Topeka Boulevard. You can learn more about what Pizza Hut has to offer by checking out its website.
