These place settings are too amazing for food. Amazing Tablescapes display begins Feb. 1

Creative, whimsical, magical – how will you describe the displays in the fifth annual Amazing Tablescapes?

Washington County Museum of Fine Arts will again virtually host this annual fundraising event. A special ticketed virtual preview party will begin at 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, via Zoom. The public can view Amazing Tablescapes beginning Monday, Feb. 1, through Friday, Feb. 28, on the museum’s website at https://wcmfa.org/amazing-tablescapes/

Tablescapes are themed dinner service settings. This year, 11 elaborately decorated tablescapes are featured, created by both area and international designers.

Once the designers create their tables, their creations are documented through photographs and video (thanks to an in-kind donation by Monika Wertman of Wertman Photography) that will be used to create an online exhibition and tour.

Virtual visitors can vote online, through donations to the museum, for their favorite tables. Last year’s Tablescapes raised more than $37,000 for the museum.

The People’s Choice Winner's name will be engraved on a trophy topped with a tiny gold table and chairs displayed at the museum.

Tickets to the virtual preview cost $100, which includes a special gift bag filled with locally sourced goodies. Attendees also receive two entries for a chance to win one of two watercolor paintings by the late E. Lee Weaver.

To purchase tickets to the preview reception, call Donna at 301-739-5727, or to purchase by PayPal go to https://wcmfa.org/amazing-tablescapes/.

The public can vote online Feb. 1-28 for the People’s Choice Awards. Major credit cards and PayPal are accepted. The winner will be named Thursday, March 3, during the museum’s annual meeting. Sponsorships for tables are still available.
