Plainview woman dies in 2-vehicle collision on FM 400

HALE COUNTY — A woman is dead after an car accident just outside of Plainview Thursday night.

Deborah Ann Beck, 49 of Plainview, died from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle accident about 8 p.m. Thursday at FM 400 and County Road 110, about a tenth of a mile south of Plainview.

According to information provided by the Texas Department of Public Safety, Beck was attempting to turn left in her 2016 Ford Escort from southbound FM 400 onto County Road 110 when a 2005 Ford F-250 pickup, driven by a 16-year-old boy, began to pass her. The vehicles collided and Beck's car left the roadway and struck a culvert. The truck came to rest on the roadway. The teen was not injured.

Beck was taken to Covenant Hospital Plainview, where she later died from her injuries. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, and weather conditions were clear and dry.
