Plan ahead: Weekend freeway closures slated along I-10 in Phoenix area

Minimal closures and restrictions were on tap for Valley freeways this weekend as the Arizona Department of Transportation unveiled its short list of ongoing improvement projects, kicking off Friday.

Notable closures and restrictions would be seen only along sections of Interstate 10 primarily in the far West Valley.

ADOT advised drivers to allow for extra time and plan alternate routes. Drivers were asked to be prepared to slow down and merge safely when venturing through work zones.
