Triad High School presents ‘Radium Girls’ — 7 p.m. Thursday-Friday, Nov. 2-3. Triad High School, 703 US-40, Troy. Inspired by a true story, “Radium Girls” traces the efforts of Grace Fryer, a dial painter, as she fights for her day in court. Her chief adversary is her former employer, Arthur Roeder, an idealistic man who cannot bring himself to believe that the same element that shrinks tumors could have anything to do with the terrifying rash of illnesses among his employees. As the case goes on, however, Grace finds herself battling not just with the U.S. Radium Corporation, but with her own family and friends, who fear that her campaign for justice will backfire. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students and seniors. triadhs.tcusd2.org

‘Cinderella Waltz’ — 7:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday, Nov. 3-4, and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5. Hettenhausen Center for the Arts, 400 N. Alton St., Lebanon. Rosey Snow is trapped in a fairytale world that is by turns funny and a little frightening, with her stepsisters Goneril and Regan, her demented stepmother, her lecherous father, a bewildered prince, a fairy godmother who sings salty old sailor songs, a troll, and a possibly homicidal village idiot. This play investigates the archetypal origins of the world’s most popular fairytale, contrasting the familiar and charming Perrault version with the darker, more ancient and disturbing tale recorded by the Brothers Grimm. Grotesque farce and romantic fantasy blend in a fairytale for adults. For tickets and info: thehett.com.

Caught between a yearning for the unknown and feeling bound by expectation, she telescopes back to a time before her world had fallen apart. As she sits in the driver’s seat, she faces a choice: will she follow in her mother’s footsteps, or take the dare of her impetuous best friend and chart a new path? Additional performances Nov. 10-12. For tickets and info: tesseracttheatre.com

Conductor James Gaffigan brings an international reputation as an opera conductor, and he tells this tale with white-hot intensity. slso.org
