Plane Carrying Evacuated Afghans on Transit to United States Arrives in Albania

Afghan refugees arrived in Albania in the early hours of Friday morning, August 27, video posted by Tirana’s Mayor shows.

In the video, posted by Erion Veliaj, people can be seen disembarking from a plane, being greeted by authorities, and forming a line near shuttle buses.

Veliaj said the city’s “fittingly named Mother Teresa airport” welcomed the first Afghan refugees on a flight from Kabul.

121 people comprising of mainly families including children landed at Tirana International Airport, local media reported.
