Plane crashes into car at Reigle Airport over the weekend, S. Londonderry Twp. police say
South Londonderry Township Police report no one was seriously injured after a plane struck a car near Reigle Airport over the weekend as it was preparing to land.
Officials responded to a reported airplane verses auto accident with injuries at 9:35 a.m. Saturday. The plane was piloted by Michael Long, 68, Elizabethtown.
"Police learned that Long, the pilot of a 1946 Luscombe 8A aircraft, was attempting a landing at Reigle Airport," police said in a press release. " As the airplane passed over South Forge Rd. the landing gear struck a 2013 VW Passat Traveling north on South Forge Rd."
The airplane came to rest approximately 100 feet west of the impact location, officials added. It's landing gear and fuselage were damaged during the crash.
Donald Rice, 69, and passenger Kathryn Rice, 66, were in the car during the crash. Officials said that the Ono, Pennsylvania, residents' car sustained damage to the roof, and the right rear and rear-most windows.
Campbelltown Volunteer Fire Company, Campbelltown Fire Police and First Aid Safety Patrol Ambulance responded to the scene.

The Federal Aviation Administration will be conducting an investigation into the crash, according to officials.
