Planned railroad crossing closures could cause bus route delays

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) – The Columbia County School District is notifying the public about bus route delays due to planned railroad crossing closures by CSX officials.

CSX officials state that these closures will begin Wednesday, January 31st, and they may last from 1 to 5 days.

The Columbia County School District has provided the information that includes bus delays of up to 30 minutes for both pick-up and drop-off times at the following schools:

Greenbrier High School:

  • Route 1

  • Route 6* (Your child’s route number may change during the scheduled delays. Check the Edulog Lite School Bus Tracker App for notifications of temporary route number changes.)

  • Route 25* (Your child’s route number may change during the scheduled delays. Check the Edulog Lite School Bus Tracker App for notifications of temporary route number changes.)

Riverside Elementary School:

  • Route 1

  • Route 2

  • Route 3

  • Route 4

  • Route 7

River Ridge Elementary School:

  • Route 2

  • Route 4

  • Route 5

  • Route 7

  • Route 8

Riverside Middle School:

  • Route 1

  • Route 2

  • Route 3

  • Route 5

  • Route 6

  • Route 8

Administrators state that the anticipated delays stated above may change depending on traffic in the area, and parents are being encouraged to download the Edulog Lite School Bus Tracker App to receive route change notifications. Parents are also included to check with their child’s school for the individual school code.

Officials advise everyone to refer to the Google Map of railroad crossing closures.
