Plates for Change's Taste returns to Strawbery Banke on June 22

PORTSMOUTH – The culinary event of the summer will kick off June 22, as Plates for Change, a new local non-profit, hosts its first official Taste Event. The event will be held under the big white tent at Strawberry Banke in Portsmouth and will look and feel like the event hosted in past years, featuring food and beverage from seacoast restaurants and distributors, as well as live music and dancing to the acclaimed Boston band, Soul City.

Taste takes place from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $100 for general admission and $175 for VIP, which gives ticket holders early admittance to the event at 5:30 p.m. and access to a special VIP tent with select food and premium beverages. Tickets can be purchased through this link or by visiting platesforchange.org.

Proceeds from the event support local organizations dedicated to ending food insecurity in seacoast communities. These organizations include Gather, End 68 Hours of Hunger, Footprints Food Pantry, Community Action Partnership at Strafford County, NH Farm to School, Seacoast Eat Local SNAP, NH Food Bank, Southern New Hampshire Services, and NH Hunger Solutions.

“After two years of being hopeful and having to cancel, we are so ready to gather to support our grant recipients. So many have told us how happy they are that the event is back on this year. We can’t wait to have so many of our local restaurants there sharing the specialties of our many talented Seacoast area chefs,” said Kathy Bachmann, board member.
