Applicants must complete an audition for standard orchestral instruments and jazz instruments. Both new and returning members must complete it.

FSYO’s auditions require students to prepare the specific excerpt listed for the ensemble for which they are auditioning.

All auditions are approximately three to five minutes. Percussion auditions take a bit longer -- about 10 minutes.

Auditions will be held at the University of Central Florida’s School of the Performing Arts building.

Video auditions will only be accepted by request, on a case-to-case basis.

FSYO comprises seven ensembles, from percussion to jazz band and orchestras.

Acceptance in one of the ensembles is not guaranteed as spots are limited.

Placement is merit-based and those auditioning should meet specific criteria to be considered.

The deadline for students to submit an application is April 3.
