These players have committed to Kentucky basketball's 2023 recruiting class

·3 min read

After an uncharacteristic first-round exit from the NCAA Tournament at the hands of a No. 15 seed, Kentucky men's basketball and coach John Calipari are hoping for a return to form on the recruiting trail.

Early returns on the Wildcats' 2023 class suggest they have done just that.

With three five-star commitments secured as July comes to a close, UK is second on 247 Sports' team rankings — a marked improvement from the No. 17 spot in 2022.

Legacy recruit Reed Sheppard of North Laurel High School got the ball rolling for the 2023 class when he announced his commitment in the fall of 2021. Seven months later, Sheppard was joined by top-rated point guard prospect Robert Dillingham of California.

Justin Edwards, a five-star small forward from Philadelphia, was the latest recruit to commit to UK. The top-five 2023 prospect announced his pledge to the Wildcats over Tennessee on July 25.
