Here are the players Missouri State, Ryan Beard signed during the 2022 early signing period

Ryan Beard announced 13 new signees to Missouri State just three days after he was introduced as the football team's new head coach.

Beard did not lose a single verbal commitment following the departure of former head coach Bobby Petrino, who took over as the offensive coordinator at UNLV last week.

Beard and his staff that had been recruiting under Petrino have been following the same recruiting plan that was set in place for this offseason. The new batch of players includes a handful of Missouri's top high school prospects including quite a few from this area.

Here are the players who signed with the Bears on Wednesday:

Ryan Boyd, Cardinal Ritter, WR

Boyd announced his commitment to Missouri State on Tuesday and will be one of two players to join the Bears from the defending Class 3 state champions.

Boyd is a 6-footer who caught 53 passes for 1,036 yards and 13 touchdowns this past season while earning Class 3 Third Team All-State honors. He held offers from UCONN, Western Illinois, Long Island and others.

Craig Burt Jr., Western Kentucky, WR

Burt is a 6-foot-4, 205-pound wide receiver who spent the last three seasons at Western Kentucky and has one season of eligibility remaining.

Burt caught 40 passes for 468 yards and three touchdowns in 20 appearances during his Hilltoppers career. This past season, he caught four passes for 70 yards. Burt isn't the most active on social media and it is unclear who pursued him after he entered the transfer portal. Out of high school, he was a three-star wide receiver with offers from WKU, New Mexico State and Massachusetts.

Angelo Butts, Miami (Ohio), WR

Butts, a three-star prospect from Florissant who attended O'Fallon Christian, is a 5-foot-11 receiver who is transferring to Missouri State from Miami (Ohio). The Bears offered him out of high school in 2021 along with Ball State, Bowling Green, Indiana State and others.

Butts was regarded as one of the fastest sprinters in St. Louis during his high school career.

Justin Curtis, Wagner, OL

Curtis is a 6-foot-5, 295-pound offensive lineman who attended FCS Wagner College which is located in Staten Island, New York, as a part of the Northeast Conference. He is originally from Santa Clarita, California, and he played his high school ball at IMG Academy in Florida.

Curtis didn't play during the 2021 season but he made five appearances for Wagner this past season. He was also being pursued by Stetson, Butler, Presbyterian, San Diego, Valparaiso and Gardner-Webb among others. He was a three-star prospect out of high school.

Cole Feuerbacher, Glendale High, QB

Springfield's top gunslinger will stay home to attend Missouri State. He's a 6-foot-3, 190-pound quarterback who also held an offer from FBS Pittsburgh and had several other schools interested in him before he landed on MSU.

Feuerbacher excelled in Mike Mauk's offense while throwing for 6,040 yards and 65 touchdowns over the last two seasons to go along with 1,505 rushing yards and nine scores. He was a News-Leader First Team All-Ozarks selection after his senior year.

Kaleno Levine, Tyler Junior College, DB

Levine chose Missouri State over schools including Valparaiso, Southern Illinois, Robert Morris, Tuskegee and others.

Andrew Link, Kickapoo High, DL

Link has been one of southwest Missouri's best players for several seasons now. He's a very athletic 6-foot-4, 240-pound defensive end who finished last season with nine sacks — even when offenses were running away from him just about every play.

Link picked the Bears over Navy, Indiana State, Colgate, Akron, Eastern Illinois, South Dakota State, Western Illinois, Eastern Michigan, Ball State, Lindenwood, Murray State and others.

Heston Miller, West Plains High, WR

Miller, a three-star wide receiver prospect, will play for the Bears after standing out as one of southwest Missouri's most explosive playmakers.

The 6-foot-1 receiver runs a 4.40 40-yard dash and caught 47 passes this season for 776 yards and five touchdowns. He also had ball carrier duties as a running back and chose the Bears over Illinois State, Murray State, Southern Illinois, Southeast Missouri State and others.

Cooper Roy, Air Force, EDGE

Missouri's all-time leader in sacks is coming back home after a year at Air Force. Roy will have all of his eligibility left as he joins the Bears, who pursued him when he was a star at Glendale.

Roy's first step off the snap was always elite and he finished his career with 59 sacks when the previous state record was 42. He also owns the single-season sack record with 26 in his junior year before he followed with 25 as a senior while playing two fewer games.

Jax Rumsey, Moore (Oklahoma) High, OL

Rumsey is a 6-foot-3, 311-pound offensive lineman who will come in as a freshman from Oklahoma where he started all four years. He will immediately become one of the biggest players on Missouri State's roster.

Rumsey was initially committed to Oklahoma State as a preferred walk-on. He also held offers from Northeastern State, East Central and Central Oklahoma.

Rumsey was not announced as a signee on Wednesday. He gave a verbal commitment to the Bears on Monday.

Michael Teason, Christian Brothers, LB

Teason, a three-star linebacker, is on his way to MSU after holding offers from Air Force, Arkansas State, Army, Brown, Eastern Kentucky, Indiana State, SEMO, Southern Illinois and others.

The 6-foot-3, 225-pounder helped lead CBC to a Class 6 state championship as a first-team all-state linebacker. He had 102 total tackles this season with 14 being for a loss and five sacks.

Caden Wiest, Reeds Spring High, DL

After leading Reeds Spring further than it's ever gone, Wiest hopes he can help Missouri State go the furthest it's ever gone as he makes the move north to Springfield.

Wiest had more than 100 tackles this past season and had 6.5 sacks en route to a state runner-up finish. The ultra-athletic 6-foot-3, 240-pound defensive end had plenty of people interested with Central Michigan, Colorado State, Illinois State, Princeton, Army and others being among those who offered him a scholarship.

Dallas Winner-Johnson, Cardinal Ritter, ATH

Winner-Johnson, a third-team all-state linebacker, helped Cardinal Ritter win its first-ever state championship this past season. He's a 6-foot-5, 210-pound athlete whose position is up in the air.

With his tall frame, Winner-Johnson was projected as a wide receiver and tight end before he had his standout season on the defensive side of the ball. He caught 11 passes for 167 yards and a touchdown this past season to go along with 56 total tackles. The Bears listed him as a linebacker upon his signing on Wednesday.

Kanye Young, Reedley College, LB

Young is a 6-foot-1, 240-pound junior college transfer from Reedley College which is located in California. He was given an honorable mention selection this past season in his conference.

Young played high school ball at Heritage High in California and also played basketball. He had 58 total tackles this past season as a freshman with 1.5 sacks, an interception and a fumble recovery.
