It’s playoff season for high school softball. Here are the Sac-Joaquin Section matchups
The CIF Sac-Joaquin Section on Friday afternoon released its 2023 softball playoff brackets for Divisions I through VII.
All first-round games are Tuesday, May 16, with most starting at 4 p.m. Divisions I through III have 16-team brackets and playoffs will run through the section championships at Sacramento State on May 27. Division IV has a 10-team bracket with the top six receiving byes. The D-IV championship is at Cosumnes River College on May 27. Divisions V through VII features eight-team brackets with section championships played a week earlier, May 20, at Cosumnes.
Seven Stanislaus District teams host home games, including Central California Athletic League undefeated champion Enochs and league runner-up Gregori. Central Catholic earned the No. 1 in a loaded Division III field and hosts throughout the playoffs. Valley Oak League opponent Oakdale hosts in the first round.
