Plenty of familiar faces once again will lead Knox County after voters cast their ballots.

Knox County voters selected leaders, commissioners, school board members and judges in Thursday's slate of dozens of races.

With dozens of races on the ballot, voters had lots of choices.

Here's a rundown of who won major elections in Knox County.

Knox County mayor

Republican incumbent Glenn Jacobs won another term. The former WWE wrestler and current small-business owner was first elected in 2018. His tenure has been filled with highs and lows, from challenging the county law director on the uniformed officers' pension plan to his refusal during the pandemic to institute medically recommended public health protection measures.

Jacobs beat Democratic opponent Debbie Helsley 30,300 to 24,512. Helsley is secretary of the Democratic Party of Knox County.

District attorney general

Republican incumbent Charme Allen was reelected as district attorney general. She was first elected to the position in 2014 and has more than 30 years' experience in the local prosecutor's office.

She beat Democratic challenger Jackson Fenner, a local attorney, 30,756 to 22,790.

Public defender

Republican incumbent Eric M. Lutton did not have a challenger in the general election. In 2019, Lutton was named by Gov. Bill Lee to take the helm as Knox County’s chief defender of the poor. Mark Stephens announced he was stepping down early.

County trustee

Justin Biggs was elected county trustee, beating out Democratic opponent Dave "Caz" Cazalet. The office is responsible for collecting and distributing property taxes and also helps the county manage its budget.

Biggs was previously vice chairman of the Knox County Commission and represented the county at large. Biggs has worked for more than 15 years in the county trustee office.

Cazalet is a former journalist and Marine veteran, according to the Knox County Democratic Party.

Justin Biggs won 29,750 to 23,634.

Knox County circuit, civil sessions and juvenile court clerk

Republican incumbent Charlie Susano beat Democrat Dana Moran. He has been in the position since 2018.

Susano won 30,333 to 22,774.

Register of deeds

Republican incumbent Nick McBride won over Democratic challenger Scott Crammond. McBride was first elected in 2018.

McBride won 30,622 to 22,843.

Knox County Commission District 3

Republican candidate and real estate agent Gina Oster won a close race against Democrat Stuart Hohl.

In 2020, Oster ran for Tennessee State House District 18 but lost to Eddie Mannis in the Republican primary.

Hohl has a degree in journalism and electronic media from the University of Tennessee, according to his LinkedIn. His career in media has continued since he graduated in 2012 and he has worked on shows for Discovery, the Oxygen Network and Animal Planet.

The seat was previously held by Randy Smith, who had served his final term.

Oster won 3,047 to 2,958.

Knox County Commission District 7

Rhonda Lee, a Republican attorney from Powell, won the race. Lee did not have an opponent and will take over the seat from Charles Busler.

Busler finished serving his second and final term for the county this year.

Lee received 4,101 votes.

Knox County Commission At-Large, Seat 10

Incumbent Larsen Jay defeated Democratic candidate Dylan Earley.

This will be the former filmmaker's second and final term serving on the county commission.

Earley is working on a master's degree in communications strategies from American University.

Jay won 30,015 to  23,308.

Knox County Commission At-Large, Seat 11

Republican Kim Frazier will be taking over this seat from former commissioner Justin Biggs, who will now serve as county trustee.

Frazier faced Democrat Vivian Underwood Shipe and independent Donald Bridges in this election.

Frazier received 29,054 votes compared to Underwood Shipe with 22,516 and Bridges with 2,330.

Board of Education District 1

Democrat John Butler won the district 1 seat. He received 1,993 votes compared to independent Reginald Jackson with 394 and independent Breyauna Holloway with 350.

Board of Education District 4

Democrat Katherine Bike won this close race. She received 5,078 votes compared to Republican Will Edwards with 4,791.

Incumbent Virginia Babb did not seek reelection.

Board of Education District 6

Republican Betsy Henderson won the race. The incumbent received 3,461 votes compared to independent Phillip Michael Sherman with 2,354.

Board of Education District 7

Republican Steve Triplett won the seat. He received 3,829 votes compared to independent Dominique Oakley with 1,567.

Board of Education District 9

Republican Kristi Kristy won the close race. The incumbent received 2,946 votes compared to Democrat Annabel Henley with 2,686.
