Plymouth’s historic district offers free rides in all-electric vehicles throughout the Summer

Three new Ride Circuit cars are in Plymouth in time to ease the pain at the pump as visitors flock to America’s Historic District for the summer. This new electric car initiative is sponsored by “See Plymouth,” the official tourism organization charged with promoting the town and county.

The pilot program rolled into town over Memorial Day weekend and has been offering services to visitors and locals only Fridays-Sundays. But according to town officials, beginning on Friday, June 24, rides will be available seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. through Labor Day weekend.

These multi-passenger cars enable riders to park their vehicles and ride for free throughout the historic downtown and waterfront areas.

“The ‘park and ride’ approach is key to reducing emissions and downtown congestion and its harmful effects on the environment,” said town officials.

The Ride Circuit app can be downloaded on both Android and Apple devices. More information can be found at seeplymouth.com/listing/ride-circuit.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
