Plymouth Old Settlers kicks off with carnival atmosphere

In a significant departure from past years, Plymouth Old Settlers 2022 launched their event with a carnival atmosphere. Games, petting zoos, pony rides, and more dotted Plymouth Square Park as the event got rolling.

Vendors of various kinds also were welcomed, giving the park a small version of a flea market. Food was plentiful, with Sullivan Auctioneers offering pulled pork to the menu.

Music also helped to cap off the evening, with the Beck Brothers Band being the night’s headliners. Their performance was dominated by country music, both modern and classic.

The evening also provided an opportunity for the meeting of old friends who came from near and far to enjoy both entertainment and the reunions that served to relive old memories.

Also on hand, 2022 Hancock County Fair Queen Emma Whitaker mixed with the crowd in attendance, a form of meet and greet especially for those who were unable to attend this year’s fair.

Justine Sargeant, one of the event’s organizers, was enthusiastic about the opening night results. She called it an unreserved success.
