Pocono foodies rejoice: Pizza, wings, wine on tap at food festivals this weekend

If you’re out and about this weekend and looking for some good eats — paired with wine — check out these festivals headed our way.

Winging it

If you're headed to NASCAR weekend at Pocono Raceway, consider making a pit stop at the Pocono East Foodie Festival taking place 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday behind Wingz and a Prayer, 109 Plaza Drive, Pocono Summit.

Entry is free. Cooks will be serving chicken wings from Wingz and a Prayer and pizza by Warrior’s Pizza, a local food truck known for its wood-oven pies.

There will also vendors on-site cooking up steak bites, empanadas and other small treats. Live entertainment and chef demos will be on hand.

Wine samplings with a view

Enjoy wine samplings from eight Pocono wineries, food, and panoramic views of Beltzville Lake and the Pocono Mountains at the Mountain Wine Festival noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Penn’s Peak.

Participating wineries include Franklin Hill Vineyards, Blue Ridge Winery, Shade Mountain Winery, Black River Farms, the Winery at Wilcox, Tolino Vineyards and Blue Mountain Winery.

Food vendors and local artisans will be on hand selling yummy eats and arts and crafts.

Cost is $30 per person.

Stefanie Johnson Band will perform on Saturday and Radio One will perform on Sunday.
