Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau release 2022-2023 travel guide

Casino connoisseurs, trail travelers, and anyone else who happens to enjoy all that northeastern Pennsylvania has to offer, rejoice, the newest edition of Pocono Mountains Magazine has all the attractions you're looking for.

The Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau announced the launch of the 2022-2023 issue of their popular travel guide Tuesday, noting that it will be distributed to 800 locations across New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Maryland this July.

PMVB partnered with Baily Design and Advertising to create a print and digital version of the release, which is updated with new content annually and serves as "the official guide to help guests plan their getaway to the four-county region with features such as insider trip ideas, suggested itineraries, and a pullout map."

"It really tells a story about the full breadth of the Poconos and all the activities that are available," PMVB President and CEO Chris Barrett said. "No matter what the interest is, it really is contained within that publication."

The comprehensive guide includes information about small towns throughout the region, things to do, places to stay, restaurants and other dining options, convenient midweek getaways, and a brand-new spread on the revamped Pocono Beverage Trail experience.

With 953 listings which highlight PMVB members and properties that pay the hotel tax within Monroe, Pike, Wayne and Carbon counties, the magazine has something for just about everyone, whether you are planning a romantic getaway at the couples-only Cove Haven Resort, or a more family-friendly excursion to Costa's Family Fun Park.

Outdoorsy-types will appreciate entries on hiking, skiing, biking, rafting and more across the Poconos' near thousands of miles of beloved wilderness. Those more inclined toward the indoors can enjoy evenings at Mount Airy Casino Resort or a relaxing break at Blissful Existence Healing Acres. History buffs will want to make a point to check out Grey Towers National Historic Site and the Columns Museum in Milford, and railfans can't miss a trip to Wayne County to explore "The Birthplace of the American Railroad."

And, of course, if you plan on a shopping trip, there are a plethora of options, ranging from artisan clothing from Hawley Silk Mill to handmade candles from The Haunted Candle Shoppe of the Poconos in Swiftwater to year-round holiday treasures at Carbon's Jingle Bells Christmas Shoppe.

Barrett noted that the new issue of the guide is part of a strategy to provide interesting options to visitors of all sorts, whether they choose to utilize a physical copy or a digital version to plan their trip. It also serves as a valuable addition to PMVB's outreach, which includes their website and the Pocono Television Network.

"The combination of all three of the legs on that stool give the guests a good idea of everything that's available here in the Poconos before they select what they want to do in planning a vacation, so it's a great planning guide," Barrett said, adding that PMVB will be releasing an app to connect with even more people who plan on visiting the Poconos.

According to PMVB, Pocono Mountains Magazine will be available at high-traffic locations in the commonwealth such as Pennsylvania welcome centers, PMVB visitors centers, 49 Pennsylvania Wawa stores, two large travel shows in New York and Washington, D.C., rest areas, turnpike plazas, and AAA offices.

And if you don't want to drive out to pick one up, you can always request to have a guide mailed directly to you — just make sure to do so quickly, as last year's 200,000 copies were all swiped up, leading to a run of 250,000 copies for this edition.
