From freezing dips in Mauch Chunk to beer samplings galore in Stroudsburg, there's plenty of wintertime fun headed our way.
Check out these events happening in January and early February in the Poconos.
Say cheers at the Sherman
Something is brewing in Stroudsburg this weekend.
The Sherman Theater will host the Pocono Winter Beerfest with pours from breweries such as Barley Creek; Silverback Distillery; ShawneeCraft Brewing Company; Sango Kura, Richmond Farm and Brewery; Allegheny Creek Brewing Company; Wallenpaupack Brewing Company; Hopping Eagle Brewing Company; Yergey Brewing; Crooked Eye Brewery; Hidden River Brewing Company; Lehigh Valley Home Brewers; Susquehanna Brewing Company; Stable 12 Brewing Company; Hardball Cider; Blake’s Hard Cider Company; VooDoo Brewing Company; Devil’s Backbone Brewing Company and Blue Point Brewing Company.
When: 1 p.m. Saturday
Cost: $40 to $55. Attendees must be 21 and over (government issued ID required).

Freezing dip in Jim Thorpe
Hang up the winter gloves and hats and take a dip into the freezing waters (if you dare).
The Marian Catholic High School Polar Plunge, now in its 10th year, returns to Mauch Chunk Lake.
The first plungers hit the water at noon. After making a splash, warm up with some refreshments and other entertainment.
When: Registration begins at 10 a.m. on Jan. 28.

Celebration on the slopes
Big Boulder is celebrating its 75th birthday with food, drinks, giveaways live music and fireworks.
Entry to the festivities is free (ski and lift tickets are an additional fee).
Additionally, staff from Jack Frost and Big Boulder (Jack Frost celebrates its 50th anniversary on Feb. 4) will be handing out free cupcakes at 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sundays throughout the season.
To get your sweet treat, stop by the cupcake station at the main lodge. A special prize will be awarded to the skier who does the best vocal rendition of "Happy Birthday."

Tobyhanna Ice Harvest
The longstanding Pocono tradition is back.
Volunteers will be cutting the ice for free while teaching visitors about the history of the ice business in the Poconos. The event begins at the ice house where there will be reenactments of how workers (and their horse) would harvest ice and later sell it to local residents and business owners.

IPAs and more at Skytop
Tap into some winter fun at Skytop's annual winter beer festival.
Activities include live music, axe throwing (for an additional fee).
Tickets include a keepsake tasting glass, and complimentary beer tastings, and small bites.
The festival takes place outside along the lake so make sure to dress appropriately. Warming stations and campfires will be on-site.
When: noon to 3 p.m. Feb. 4
Cost: $65

Winter on the lake
Wally Ice Fest celebrates the best of winter fun in the Pocono Mountains. Tourists and community members alike will enjoy getting out and taking in the best winter has to offer with events like the Pocono Pond Hockey Tournament, Anthracite Club Curling Demonstrations and Games, public ice skating, live music and more.
When: Live music scheduled for Feb. 4 - 5.
Tournament starts Saturday and continues Sunday.
Where: Hockey and curling events at Lake Russell Pond, Newfoundland.
Cost: Free admission for most events, donations encouraged to play curling matches.
