Jorge Polanco can help fantasy lineups for rest of 2021

CHRIS CRAWFORD: There have not been many infielders, or hitters period, better than Jorge Polanco in the month of June. In exactly 50 at bats, Polanco is slashing 320, 352, 600, with four homers in that time frame. In a dozen games, the switching second baseman has six multi-hit games, including a two for five effort on Monday, with a run scored against Seattle.

And it's not like Polanco was awful in May either. On the contrary, he had an OPS of 838 in his 87 at bats that month. The reason his overall numbers are a pedestrian 250, 316, 438 are because he was worse than bad-- assuming that's a possible thing-- in April, with a 207 average and 555 OPS.

It seems that fantasy managers haven't quite forgiven him for that wretched opening month, as he's still available in 43% of Yahoo leagues. That feels like a mistake for someone who has swung the bat as well as he has over the last six weeks. And he can play shortstop and second base.

If you're one of those fantasy managers who sees Polanco available, it would behoove you to rectify that. There's plenty of reasons that Polanco can help you in several categories for the rest of the year.
