JEREMY KORZENIEWSKI: Hello, I'm Jeremy Korzeniewski from Autoblog, and this is a 2020 Polaris Slingshot. The big news for the 2020 model year is a new 2-liter engine designed by Polaris that replaces the GM designed 2.4 liter of earlier models, which is also optional with a automatic transmission for the first time. A manual is still available.

This is the Slingshot R, which means it has a slightly more powerful version 204-horsepower. And I'll give you a look at the engine here. This is how you release it. There's a hood release there. I'll walk around to the side here. This is not the easiest thing to do with one hand, since I'm holding the video camera with the other, but a couple tries, you can see it kind of opens up like a clam shell. I would definitely advise using two hands when you can. It's pretty heavy.

But here's the engine, 2-liter, four-cylinder, like I said designed by Polaris, and it makes 204 horsepower. Polaris says this machine, the Slingshot, will do 0 to 60 in about 4.9 seconds. This one has the automated manual transmission. You can see three buttons here, reverse, neutral, drive. And obviously, no clutch, just the gas and a brake pedal.

So it's a pretty intricate vehicle when you take a look under the hood. You can see the tube frame. You can see the suspension set up here. There's these aluminum A-Arms, coil over shocks. And it's a pretty tight package. It's pretty cool. It is very, very interesting to drive and this 2-liter engine really does make it feel pretty darn quick in everyday street driving.

It's been raining out today, and you can see, despite the fact that I've watched it a couple of times, it gets quite dirty under here. You can see there's a lot of like little indentations in the bodywork, those are pretty hard to get water out of which is going to happen if you do get caught in the rain, but it's not the biggest deal in the world, but I figured I would point it out. All right, guys. Thanks for watching.
