Polestar's Precept concept was revealed in April as a design study, a way for the company to show off both its next iteration of design language and its future goals for technological development. The reaction was overwhelmingly positive, and, as a result, the company announced earlier today that the car will enter production.

Details on that actual production plan are slim, but the company stresses that the environmentally-conscious traits featured on the self-described "Commitment car" will largely carry over into the finished product. The much-ballyhooed flax composites and recycled plastics of the original car are called out by name, with the company claiming that their ambition is to bring that level of sustainability to the production model. This goal follows with production itself, too; The car will be produced at a new factory in China, one that will be designed from the onset with the goal of being carbon neutral.

Timelines, pricing, and markets earmarked for the car were not disclosed. Also not discussed were any details about which of the many features beloved by concept designers, from rear suicide doors to side-view cameras, will make their way to the finished product. The dramatic styling, however, is a guarantee to carry over to the Polestar Precept that will eventually hit roads.
