Police: 28-year-old man accused of taking missing Ohio girl to Texas arrested

Jontatum Ferguson, 20, has been charged with the murder of Dujawn Samuel McDaniel Foster III, 21.

A California man is facing kidnapping charges after a missing teen from Hillsboro, Ohio was found in Texas, according to police.

On Saturday, the Hillsboro Police Department began investigating a report of a missing girl.

The teen's family told police she was last seen at their home on Saturday morning.

Investigators said the missing girl was communicating with a man in California named "Roman."

During the week of July 7, the man traveled from California to Hillsboro to attend The Festival of the Bells with the girl, police said.

Investigators said while the man was in Hillsboro, he slept in a rental van close to the teen's home.

While looking for the missing teen, investigators found a document with the man's address in the girl's bedroom that led the search to San Diego, California.

Local officials worked with the San Diego Police Department and identified the man who went by "Roman" as Alex Roman Nguyen, 28, of California.

Through cellular tracking, investigators discovered Nguyen took the teen out of Ohio. The FBI was called in to assist with the investigation.

Officials were able to track Nguyen and the missing girl to El Paso, Texas.

Police said Nguyen was taken into custody without incident on Tuesday and has been charged with one count of travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct.

Police said the teen was found safe and will be brought back to Ohio.
