Police: 84-year-old pedestrian killed in collision with 18-year-old motorcyclist in Stamford

Stamford Police identified the 84-year-old pedestrian who was struck and killed by an 18-year-old motorcyclist on Wednesday night.

The Stamford Police Department responded to Courtland Avenue for a report of a pedestrian hit by a motorcycle just before 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday night. Both the pedestrian, later identified as 84-year-old Gene Lepre of Stamford, and the motorcyclist were said to be injured, according to police.

Investigations into the crash found that Lepre was walking across Courtland Avenue just south of Seaton Road and was not walking in the crosswalk, police said. The motorcyclist from Stamford, was traveling north on Courtland Ave. when the crash occurred in the northbound travel lane, according to police.

The pedestrian was transported to Stamford Hospital with critical injuries and died shortly after. The motorcyclist was also transported to Stamford Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said no criminal charges have been filed at this time.
