Police acquire video footage of alleged west Columbus shooter

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Columbus police have acquired video images captured from an alleged shooting that took place on the city’s west side over five months ago.

Columbus police and Central Ohio Crime Stoppers have identified David Goodman as a suspect in a shooting that took place Sept. 7 in the Georgian Heights neighborhood. The victim told officers that he and a friend were leaving a residence from the 1500 block of Bay Club Circle when Goodman began to follow him.

The victim told police Goodman, 23, followed them to the intersection of Georgesville Road and Westview Center Plaza, near a U-Haul truck rental and a McDonalds. That’s where Goodman allegedly fired multiple shots at the victims, who said they ducked behind cars to avoid being shot.

Police confirmed that Goodman, who could be seen on camera returning to the scene and hiding a gun inside a vehicle, fired several shots into the victim’s car.

Goodman is wanted on two counts of felonious assault and is believed to be armed and dangerous. He is described as 6 feet 4 and 200 pounds and known to frequent the west side of Columbus.
