All lanes of I-65 reopened after police activity near Brentwood shut down interstate

The southbound lanes of Interstate 65 in Brentwood have reopened after police diverted motorists for an investigation.

According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation, police activity was reported about 4 a.m. Friday near the Moores Lane exit.

Brentwood police and the Tennessee Highway Patrol were assisting Franklin police in a chase with four suspected car burglars when they shut down the interstate.

The suspects ran on I-65 near Concord Road and were last seen in the woods near General MacArthur Drive in Brentwood, according to Franklin police.

Initially, both south and northbound lanes were closed but police have since reopened all lanes.
