Police arrest 2 suspects in Pleasant View Township methamphetamine lab seizure

EMMET COUNTY — Two people are in police custody after police raided a home in Pleasant View Township that was purported to be a meth lab.

On Monday, May 9, Straits Area Narcotics Enforcement was informed by the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office of a possible meth lab in a home on Tower Road in Pleasant View Township.

Michigan State Police 7th District Clandestine Lab Responders responded and prepared a search warrant, which they executed that evening while the suspects were not home.

Found in the home was methamphetamine, equipment and components used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine, hazardous waste from manufacturing methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and other evidence related to the use and production of methamphetamine.

One of the suspects was found by S.A.N.E detectives in Alanson on Friday, May 13. He was arrested and his vehicle was seized. Another search warrant allowed detectives to search the vehicle, where they found Methamphetamine pipes and the suspect’s hotel room in Pellston.

In the hotel room was another suspect along with a semi-automatic handgun with the serial numbers ground off, methamphetamine, Suboxone and other evidence related to the distribution and use of methamphetamine.

Kevin Jacob Bower, 48, of Harbor Springs was arrested for two counts of operating/maintaining a laboratory involving methamphetamine which comes with a sentence of 20 years and/or $25,000, attempted delivery/manufacturing methamphetamine which comes with a sentence of 20 years and/or $25,000, possession of methamphetamine which comes with a sentence of 10 years and/or $15,000 and purchase of pseudoephedrine to make methamphetamine which comes with a sentence of 5 years and/or $5,000.

Angel Lynn Krueger, 50, of Harbor Springs was arrested for two counts of operating/maintaining a laboratory involving methamphetamine which comes with a sentence of 20 years and/or $25,000, possession of methamphetamine, a sentence of 10 years and/or $15,000, felony firearm, a two-year sentence, possession of buprenorphine, a four-year sentence and/or $25,000, felony firearm and purchase pseudoephedrine to make methamphetamine, a five-year sentence and/or $5,000.

Both suspects were lodged at the Emmet County Jail.

S.A.N.E. was assisted by Emmet County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and the MSP 7th District Clandestine Lab Response Team.

“I would like to take this opportunity to remind citizens of the health risks and environmental dangers of Meth, especially for unsuspecting victims such as public safety-first responders and community members who may accidentally come across a Methamphetamine manufacturing operation,” Detective Lt. Ken Mills said.
