Police arrest Manhattan man for sex crimes involving minor

Sep. 24—A Manhattan man has been arrested for multiple alleged sex crimes with a minor.

Riley County police arrested Skyler James Barry, 35, 3107 Cindella Drive, Thursday afternoon on two counts of rape, two counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child and aggravated criminal sodomy.

On May 28, officers filed a report for rape, aggravated indecent liberties with a child and aggravated criminal sodomy.

All five charges involve a minor between 14 and 16 years of age.

The first rape allegedly occurred on or around Dec. 10. The second rape and both incidents of aggravated indecent liberties with a child allegedly happened between Dec. 10 and Dec. 24. An incident of aggravated criminal sodomy with a child allegedly happened on or around Feb. 19.

Barry is confined in Riley County Jail on a $250,000 bond.

Barry's first court appearance was scheduled for Friday afternoon in front of judge Kendra Lewison.
