Police Arrive After Fireworks Are Set Off on University of Hertfordshire Campus

One person was injured after fireworks were set off and thrown at the University of Hertfordshire campus in Hatfield, England, on October 31, university officials said.

This footage shows fireworks being set off at the College Lane campus. Students are heard screaming as fireworks explode nearby. Police are seen responding to the scene.

In a joint statement on the university’s website, Vice-Chancellor Professor Quintin McKellar and Students’ Union President Karthik Kumar Bonkur said that police were called to disperse a large gathering of students, some of whom were throwing fireworks, at approximately 1:30am on Sunday. One person was known to be injured and one person has been arrested.

“While we appreciate student life is different this year, we must be clear; currently, you are not allowed gatherings on campus and you must not have guests in your accommodation. And as always, fireworks are banned on campus,” McKellar and Bonkur wrote. Credit: @onclub01 via Storyful
