Police ask for help after one killed, two injured in Piscataway crash

PISCATAWAY – One person died and two were injured in a two-car crash on Stelton Road early Saturday morning.

Piscataway police responded around 1:41 a.m. to the intersection of Stelton Road and Mindy Lane on reports of a crash, said Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a Lexus was traveling on Stelton Road and struck the passenger side of a Ford Focus that was making a left onto Mindy Lane. The Lexus then struck a utility pole and both cars caught fire, Ciccone said.

The driver of the Focus died from their injuries and was pronounced on the scene. The driver and passenger of the Lexus were transported to a local hospital for treatment, Ciccone said.

The investigation is currently ongoing.

Anyone with information should contact Piscataway Police Patrolman William Kloos at 732-562-1100 or Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office James Alleva at 732-745-4011.
