Police confirm death of ferry owner

Sep. 10—Christian Lint, the owner of the historic Tourist No. 2, was killed in Portland after he was struck by a semitruck, the Portland Police Bureau said Friday.

Lint, 72, of Port Orchard, Washington, was found dead on the night of Aug. 30 after reportedly trying to cross Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

The Tourist No. 2, which took on water and partially sank near the Sixth Street viewing platform in late July, was crushed and removed this month.

In August, the state announced it would seize the vessel and pursue enforcement action against the owner to try to recover some of the costs of removal.
