Police continue to search for car in fatal Fort Smith hit-and-run

More than three months after a man was struck and killed on Towson Avenue where the driver fled, police continue looking for a white car caught on camera. Police also announced a cash reward to find the driver.

About 4:20 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, Fort Smith police officers found Thomas Anthony Miller, 27, of Van Buren, fatally struck by a vehicle in the 5200 block of Towson Avenue.

The traffic fatality was investigated as a hit-and-run, but there were no arrests reported in the days following the death.

Tips have been given to investigators who are following up, police stated.

"Since that time, we have received a number of leads and the investigation has progressed," police stated in a Tuesday, Nov. 29 news release.

"To that end, please be on the lookout for the car in the newly released images. More information will continue to be released as it is obtained until the perpetrator can be identified," police stated.
