Family members of an Indianapolis woman and her daughter are concerned after the pair disappeared and haven't been seen in nearly a week.

Detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department are seeking the public's help in locating 43-year-old Erica Rios and her 11-year-old daughter Angel Holmes.

Rios was last seen on May 20. Her car was traveling westbound on Interstate 70 near Route 39, in Hendricks County on May 21. Holmes is believed to be with Rios, who is her mother, according to police.

Alan Boyett, Rios’ cousin, said family members started getting concerned when Rios was no longer responding in a family group chat.

Boyett drove to his cousin’s home Monday on the southeast side of Indianapolis, but no one answered the door and blinds on the windows were closed, he said.

Eventually, police made entry into the home, but Rios and Holmes were not inside, Boyett said.

"There's never been a time where it's gone this many days where nobody has been able to contact her (Rios) or reach her,” Boyett said. “It's even more strange because typically she's pretty good at making sure her daughter is at school.”

Rios is 5’3" and 133 pounds with black hair and hazel eyes. Holmes is 4’3” and 70 pounds with black hair and hazel eyes. Rios’ car is a gold 2007 Hyundai Sonata 4-door with Indiana Plate #259LTT.

Police are asking anyone who locates Rios and Holmes to call 911. Those with information on their whereabouts are asked to call 911, contact the IMPD Missing Persons Unit at 317-32706160 or call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477.
