Police: Georgia woman missing 6 weeks, boyfriend & his wife are persons of interest

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) – On April 1st, Briana Winston was reported as a missing person to the Clayton County’s Sheriff’s Office by her family members.

According to the agency’s Facebook page, Winston’s family reported her missing after going to her apartment and finding that it had been completely cleaned out by the father of her child and live-in boyfriend, Michale Edwards.

After finding that her apartment had been cleaned out, the family visited her workplace and also found that she was scheduled to work on March 17th, but never arrived.

The circumstances surrounding the disappearance of Briana Winston were exceptionally suspicious in nature which caused the Clayton County Police Department Criminal Investigation Division to assume the case to determine Winston’s whereabouts.

Thus far, detectives have been able to determine that Winston vanished during the early morning hours of March 17th, and they believe that she was the victim of a crime that left her incapacitated in some way.

To date, Briana Winston has not been located but all points of evidence indicate that she is deceased and detectives will proceed with the case as a homicide investigation.

Michale Edwards and his wife, Brienna Phillips-Edwards are considered persons of interest in the disappearance of Briana Winston, and detectives are still actively working on the case and gathering evidence in hopes of finding her remains.
