Police: Glastonbury man attempted to attack officer with knife during welfare check

A man was taken to a hospital after allegedly trying to assault a police officer with a knife in Glastonbury, police said.

Officers responded to a home on Long Hill Drive at about 1:20 p.m. Wednesday for a welfare check, according to the Glastonbury Police Department.

While on the scene, responding officers encountered a man who tried to assault one of the officers with a knife, police said.

Officers used force to subdue the person, police reported. He was taken to the hospital for treatment for minor injuries, police said.

An investigation into the incident was ongoing.
