Police said they were searching for four suspects who allegedly defaced the recently installed George Floyd statue in Brooklyn, New York, on June 24.

The NYPD Hate Crime Task Force said that black spray paint was used to deface the statue and cover text on its pedestal. The group wrote “PATRIOTFRONT.US” in white spray paint on the statue.

The statue of George Floyd was unveiled in Flatbush in Brooklyn on Juneteenth, where it was going to be displayed before eventually moving to Union Square in Manhattan.
