Police identify body found Tuesday as 57-year-old Panama City Beach woman

PANAMA CITY BEACH — Local law enforcement officials have identified the body found Tuesday morning outside the Dollar General near Panama City Beach Parkway and North Vestavia Street.

According to a Wednesday afternoon email from Debbie Ingram, spokesperson of Panama City Beach, the woman was 57-year-old Janet Leigh of PCB.

"There is no indication of foul play," Ingram wrote. "An exact cause of death will be determined by the (District 14) Medical Examiner."

Chief J.R. Talamantez of the Beach Police announced in a press conference that the body was found on Tuesday.

He noted officers responded to the scene "after an employee of a neighboring business discovered a female lying on the ground adjacent to Dollar General."
